Had such an amazing day with Freedom. Could not have asked for more. Lucky for us the weather was calm. Many times the whales came right up to the boat and when they left it wasn't long before another pod was found. Truly memorable. They were plenty of room for all on the boat, no chance of missing anything and the food was good.

Being able to behold the magnificent whales, just a couple of meters away from the boat, was definitely a memorable experience. No one having the possibility of doing it should miss it. And our boat, the Freedom III Whale Watch, was a perfect choice. Smaller than other boats shipping from Hervey Bay, it allows you to be closer to the water surface while keeping a great level of comfort for the 40 passengers on board. It had little crew, just the number of people needed, friendly, kind and professional. A lunch buffet enough to get your stomach filled for the trip. But, above everything, a great ability to find where the whales are – without disturbing them, of course – which allowed us to be surrounded by up to seven of them! WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND.

Absolutely fantastic. The captain and crew were attentive, informative and fun. Freedom was very comfortable and not overcrowded - everyone could get a clear view of the whales. The Captain was brilliant finding whale pods. The food throughout the day was exemplary as well.

We had a lovely day out on Freedom a few weeks back. The crew is very helpful and knowledgeable of the local history which was much appreciated. The food was very good, loved the selection of fruits for afternoon tea. We saw lots of different marine life, we started of with a few dugongs upon leaving the marina. I love it how they go out of their way to see sea turtles and drive along the K'gari coast. So overall it is a very pleasant day out and perfect if you just want to spend a day out on the water. But, unfortunately when it comes to the actual whale watching, I was very disappointed. There was not much respect towards the whales and we were doing more whale chasing than whale watching (as was pointed out by the skipper several times). The whales did not get the space that they require, such as deliberately being approached way closer than 100m and most of our encounters were forced and cut short unfortunately. We did see lots of whales and some of them very close (too close) to the boat. At one point, when a mother and a calf was resting and not moving much, the skipper announced that he would start the engine up to "stir" the whales up. This behavior did unfortunately bring the overall experience down as there was not much respect shown to these amazing whales who deserve space and respect.

Put this on your bucket list! What an experience. We were lucky enough to see 9 pods of Whales during the day. Mother and calf stayed close to the boat and we saw tail splashing, fin cooling and a magnificent breaching. The vessel was comfortable and had many amenities. Plenty of room to move around during the day. Skipper Keith kept us well informed regarding whale facts. Ivan and Dave provided magnificent food and there was plenty for everyone. Just book it!!

I would highly recommend Freedom Whale tour. The fact that they stay out for the whole day is fantastic as there is no hurry or rush to get you off the boat for the next tour. We had the most unbelievable day with mother and baby coming right up to the boat, whales breaching within metres of the boat, fabulous food and the crew were amazing.

Had the most wonderful day the crew were the most amazing people. It was wonderful it was my husbands 80th birthday on the 28th so it made it more special thank you for arranging the tickets. Would use you again.
